Note: Autodesk no longer supports offline activation for 2021 products and later. If you have a perpetual license, you can activate your software by going online only once. After you activate online, you can continue to use 2021 software and later offline. This change doesn't apply to subscription network licenses or previous versions that you already activated offline. You can continue to use them as before.
Request codes are necessary only if you have perpetual license software and need an activation code to manually activate software on a computer with no Internet access. Generating a request code is the first step in the process of manually activating your Autodesk software.
Note: Request codes and manual activation are required only for perpetual license software. You need a valid serial number and product key to generate a request code for your perpetual license software. You don't need a request code for subscription software or to access your software online using a serial number and product key.
You see the screens for generating a request code in the product activation wizard only if your computer isn't connected to the Internet. If your computer has an active Internet connection, the software will assume you want to activate online, and it won't display the screens for a request code.
Note: The registration file described below may not be available for all products and platforms. If you can't find a previously generated request code, generate a new one following the previous instructions.
Did you try to get at least a code for your current setup, because it says in the FAQ`s that you can have one and save it for future installs as long as you don't chance your system. Which is of course very limiting. But it could help you getting your scenes over to Blender.
I don't deal with Product activation or Licensing, but I can hopefully point you in the right direction to get you the best support! I think your best bet would be to go through the Autodesk online portal here and select Email. This is under Contact Support > Activate Previous Versions.
The legal definition of "perpetual license" is different from the literal one. It was intended to work for as long as possible, but in the world of computers things change. In this case activation codes for the third-party licensing system cannot be generated as they were 10 years ago. It's not some corporate conspiracy, nor legal malfeasance. It's just a fact of life when working with software: things become obsolete, or security risks, and end up no longer supported.
Hi. I tried to install 3DS MAX 2020. after some minutes installation process stoped and showed the message Autodesk 3ds max 2020 did not install (error code: 1603). I have windows 10 installed and I turned off my antivirus and firewall. I installed Microsoft .Net framework 3.5 and DirectX 9 and 12 and Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 to 2015. What do I do now? Please help me.
There is a code defect in 3ds Max 2015 that prevents the package from being loaded. This defect was fixed in 3ds Max 2015 SP1. The problem was that 2015 did not properly handle SeriesMax values in PackageContents.xml that are greater than 2015. 2b1af7f3a8
